An 18-month-old toddler who was reported missing from his home in Kampung Pulau Kabung, Batu 36, Jalan Sitiawan near Beruas, was found dead this morning.
Manjung police chief ACP Tengku Mohd Zailan Tengku Ahmad Shah said the body of Muhammad Aqed Dariz Haraf Gilbert, was found at 10.25am by rescuers conducting the search operation since yesterday evening.
"The body of the boy was found stuck on a piece of wood in the river about 50 metres behind his house," he said here today.
Tengku Mohd Zailan said the boy was reported missing at 3pm yesterday.
"His mother claimed that the boy was hyperactive and that she had reminded her family members to pay more attention to him in view of the current rainy season as their house was located near the river," he said.
The body was taken to Seri Manjung Hospital for post-mortem.
