The Melaka government has always worked hand-in-hand with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to constantly monitor tourist spots in the state to ensure they are free from any terror threat, especially the Daish militant group.

Its tourism and river, beach and island development deputy exco, Datuk Ghazale Muhamad said such measures were an ongoing initiative, and the surveillance included entry points into the state.

"I have checked with the state police chief on the terrorism situation in Melaka and so far, everything is safe," he told reporters when met at the Rim-level state constituency Aidilfitri Open House here today.
