KUALA LUMPUR: Popular Malaysian reggae artiste Sasi The Don's latest track 'Come Follow Me' took the local and international radio by storm by garnering over 300,000 views in Youtube, in just a matter of 10 days since its launch on March 8.

The new single inspired by the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic was produced in collaboration with a famed Swedish producer and music engineers, and became an international hit with incredible support from Jamaica, Nigeria and India.

Known as the 'Reggae Ambassador of Malaysia, Sasi the Don whose real name is Sasidharan Chandran has been an influential part of the Malaysian music scene for 22 years.

Sasidharan said it was devastating to see many people, especially young ones struggling with hardships due to the pandemic.

"With the help of my good friends, 'Come Follow Me' became the perfect outlet for those in need of a safe space to get a jolt of inspiration, motivation and fighting spirit to keep moving on despite the challenges in our lives," said Sasidharan in a statement made available to Bernama.

Come Follow Me's upbeat and lively tune has taken over radio with beloved Malaysian radio channels, HITZ.fm and Fly.fm as well as international radio stations such as Radio Jamaica and SUNCITY 104.9 FM playing the hugely requested song on loop.

"In light of the new release, prominent Malaysian digital service provider, Digi Telecommunications had decided to show their support of Sasidharan by being the proud sponsor of the release and marketing behind 'Come Follow Me'," said the statement.
