Malaysia is ready to send humanitarian mission to Gaza in two weeks' time.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said whether the aid will be able to be sent to Gaza strip depends on the opening of the Rafah crossing.

Egypt on Saturday decided to open the Rafah crossing on its side to receive Palestinians injured in the Israeli offensive on the strip, which has claimed at least 186 lives, with thousands injured.

"Last night, I spoke on the phone with Hamas Political Bureau chief Khaled Meshaal to express the sympathy of all Malaysians towards the Palestinians' suffering.

"He had asked for help and we will make preparations to send food and medical supplies," Najib said at a press briefing in Seri Perdana, here today.
