Malaysia condemns the barbaric act committed against American aid worker Peter Kassig and the Syrian military personnel, says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister, in his Twitter account said the abhorrent acts violated the teachings of Islam and the principles of Islamic law.

"Malaysia condemns in the strongest terms, the barbarism committed against Mr Kassig and the Syrian military personnel. These abhorrent acts violate the teachings of Islam and the principles of Islamic law," he said.

The so-called IS militant group released a chilling video tape on Sunday, showing it had beheaded the US Army ranger-turned-aid-worker Kassig, who was captured while delivering relief supplies in Syria last year.

The IS video also showed the gruesome simultaneous beheading of at least 18 men described as Syrian military personnel.
