The Puteri UMNO movement will approach young voters as its strategy to ensure victory for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in the March 23 Kajang state by-election.

Its leader, Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, said the movement would focus on winning the hearts of more than 7,000 young women voters to get them to help give a win to BN candidate, MCA vice-president Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has announced that it would field its adviser, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"We will ensure there is enough manpower at all polling district centres, and if the Selangor BN needs more people, we will send or machinery from the states," she told reporters after a programme with national astronaut Major Dr. Faiz Khalid here.

On Chew's selection as the BN candidate, Mas Ermieyati said it reflected the leadership's trust in women and believed that with her (Chew) capability and personality, BN could win in the by-election.
