Johor police have detained 329 suspects after carrying out 464 raids throughout the state from Dec 23 until this morning.

Johor CID chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the suspects were detained under 'Ops Cantas', 'Ops Dadu' and 'Ops Noda' that were carried out to combat violent crime, street crime and syndicated crime.

"Under 'Op Cantas', police conducted 400 raids and detained 200 individuals, aged 19 to 50 years. Two of them were members of the secret society (Gang 21) and detained under the Prevention of Crime Act 1959 (POCA) for their involvement in violent crimes in the state," he said in a statement, here, today.

Under 'Ops Dadu', 19 raids were carried out and 45 individuals, aged 20 to 55 years, detained for their alleged involvement in illegal gambling activities while six tablets and RM4,091 cash was seized.

Police also detained 84 suspects, 15 locals (13 men and two women) and 69 foreign nationals (67 women and two men), aged between 18 and 47, after carrying out 45 raids at entertainment outlets under 'Ops Noda'. - BERNAMA
