JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor state government is expected to ban the Foam Party that has been organised at a leading hotel's swimming pool in the city, tomorrow.

State Religious Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said the enforcement unit of the State Religious Department (JAINJ) had checked the validity of the event at the Johor Bahru district office and Johor Bahru City Council but found that no permit was issued.

He added that the hotel management had pledged to cancel the party.

"We will continue to monitor the activities through the JAINJ enforcement division to safeguard peace and harmony within the community," he said in a statement today.

Mohd Fared said the party that was organised would allow men and women to mix freely while alcoholic drinks were also on the list of beverages that will be served to those who participate while skimpilly dressed women will also be around.

"This is not a healthy culture and could trigger the sensitivity of Muslim guests who are staying in the hotel. Furthermore, the event was not organised by Malaysians but foreigners," he said.
