They gathered, they marched, they listened to speeches and they left. Here is a capsule of what transpired throughout the Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat rally.

9 am: Several participants of ‘Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat’ gather at several locations namely Central Market, Masjid Negara, Brickfields and KLCC.

11.50am: The participants head towards Stadium Merdeka from their respective locations.

12.45pm: Participants enter the stadium.

1.50pm: The gathering officially starts with the singing of the national anthem 'Negaraku', followed by speeches by the ‘Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat’ organiser Mohamad Sabu, opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Bersih's co-chairperson Datuk S.Ambiga.

21 NGOs who each spoke between three to four minutes during gathering.

The stadium is packed to the brim forcing many to stay outside the venue.

5pm: Gathering ends peacefully with no reports of any untoward incidents. Police confirmed about 40,000 participants gathered inside the stadium while 10,000 more were outside the stadium.
