His Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Raja Muda of Selangor and High Commissioner Vanu Gopala Menon handed over the food boxes to representatives from six community organisations based in Selangor at the Singapore High Commission on 16 November. The food boxes will be delivered to beneficiaries in Sungai Buloh, Puchong, Klang, Selayang and Gombak from 22 to 26 November.
His Highness said, "I am very appreciative of the High Commission of the Republic of Singapore for their generous donation to the Selangor people during such a difficult time. I think now more than ever we have to work together to magnify the impact to the communities that we engage with. Thank you so much and I look forward to doing more collaboration and more meaningful projects in the future together."
High Commissioner Vanu said, “Malaysia and Singapore enjoy a close, multi-faceted relationship. Any issue that affects Malaysia will affect Singapore and vice versa. To borrow a peribahasa, as close neighbours, we must berat sama dipikul, ringan sama dijinjing. The Singapore High Commission sincerely hopes that our humble contribution today will go some way in lifting the burdens of our beneficiaries.”
