Civil servants with housing loan accounts with the Treasury and were affected by the recent floods can submit insurance claims, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak

"Civil servants who have fallen victims to the recent floods can contact @MOFmalaysia for information on insurance claims," he said on Twitter Sunday.

Najib, who is also Finance Minister, posted the tweet in response to Bernama's report titled 'Banjir: Penjawat Awam Digesa Kemuka Tuntutan Insurans Bencana Alam' (Civil Servants Urged to Submit Natural Disaster Insurance Claims) dated Dec 27.

In the report, Bernama quoted the Finance Ministry's statement that civil servants with housing loan accounts with the Treasury could submit insurance claims if they were among the flood victims in Pahang, Terengganu and Johor recently.

The insurance claims cover damage to building structures such as walls, floors, roofs, ceilings and loss to burglary.

The claims can be made by contacting the insurance company.
