Barisan Nasional leaders must always be close to the people so that they are aware of their problems and complaints, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

He said when leaders carry out their responsibilities, the people would have more faith in UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN).

"This is in keeping with the trust given to the leaders who must be close to the people all the time and not just during elections.

"It is not our style to turn up only during elections, we are always working for the people and being close to them so that we are aware of their needs.

"We are not seasonal leaders, but evergreen leaders who work for the people before, during and after elections," he said at a community gathering at the Sungai Manila Programme, Batu 12, near here today.

At the event, Musa who is also Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, presented a donation of 23 wheelchairs for the needy in the district.
