All seven dams in Selangor are at full capacity as of Wednesday.

According to the Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the dams in the five districts serve as water supply reserves.

These include the Sungai Selangor and Sungai Tinggi dams in Hulu Selangor; Tasik Subang (Petaling); Sungai Langat and Semenyih dams (Hulu Langat); Kolam Off River Storage Labu (Sepang); Klang Gates and Empangan Batu (Gombak).

He explained that based on the overall water usage trend in the state, the raw water capacity can sustain for a period of four months without rain.

He further stated that 98 ponds have been identified by the Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) as alternative water sources and water reserves.

According to him, these ponds contain a total of 34 million cubic meters of water.
