The forensic team has completed almost 80 per cent of the post mortem on the dead bodies of the Sulu gunmen killed in the Ops Daulat gun battle.

In confirming this, Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said so far the security forces has managed to gun down 62 of the intruders.

“Yes, we have completed almost 80 per cent of the post mortem,” he said a press conference in Felda Sahabat today.

On March 15, Hamza had said that the Philippines has three days to decide whether it will reclaim back the dead bodies failing which, Malaysia will bury the bodies the Islam way.

He had also said that the police has already sent an official letter to the Philippines embassy alerting them on this matter.

During the media conference, Hamza added that a total of 104 people have been detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) while 241 people have been detained under various other Acts.

Earlier today, Hamza said self-proclaimed Sultan Jamalul Kiram’s family member is among the 104 detained under Sosma.

He had said that the incendiary family's members were in the country under assumed names and used different identities in the Philippines.
