15 pieces of a headless newborn was found in a sewage treatment plant at PPR Kempas Permai, Sunday.

Johor Bahru Utara police chief ACP Mohd Khamsani Abdul Rahman told reporters that the body pieces were found by a group of sewage cleaners who were working at about 10.30am.

He said by while cleaning the area, the workers found several suspicious objects while cleaning silt trap and after only after gathering the objects, did they realise that it was a newborn.

The police was informed of the incident at about 1.30pm yesterday.

Police said they have found 15 pieces of the newborn but its head was still missing.

Mohd Khamsani said investigations are ongoing. He said police are also checking the nearest clinics and homes of women who have recently delivered.
