The "Twilight" star will join the cast of "Sils Maria," a new film by French director Olivier Assayas, according to Deadline.com.

Kristen Stewart will be taking Mia Wasikowska's place in this arthouse drama about the passage of time. She'll be playing an assistant to a veteran stage actress (Juliette Binoche), who is tormented when an up-and-coming young thespian (Chloe Moretz) reprises the role that made her famous 20 years ago. The film will be shot this summer in Germany and Switzerland.

Stewart has also signed up for the lead in another film shooting this summer. Peter Sattler will write and direct "Camp X-Ray," an independent political drama about a small town girl who joins the army and dreams of seeing action in Iraq, but is assigned to Guantanamo instead. Her ensuing friendship with a young man who's been imprisoned there for eight years shakes up all her patriotic preconceptions.
