With 11 days until Americans go to the polls in the presidential elections, Obama tried to reinforce to young voters that casting their ballot matters.

Obama was asked about gun violence among young people.

The president said guns were "part of the problem", but also commented that young people who feel they have no future will "take all kinds of risks."

Obama also answered questions about music and climate change in the live broadcast on the music network.

The host brought up the fact that Obama's daughters, Malia and Sasha, would be in their teens if the President was re-elected.

The host jokingly asked Obama what he feared more: Malia going on dates, or Malia having a Facebook account.

The president said Facebook, "because she's well known, I'm very keen on her protecting her privacy."

"Dates, that's fine, because she's got Secret Service protection," he said with a laugh.

The interview caps a week of heavy campaigning for the president, with just over a week remaining before election day.
