The Dewan Negara last night passed the Supply Bill 2017 which provides a budget of RM260.8 billion for government expenditure next year.

It was approved after the third reading by Second Finance Minister Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani and seconded by Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

The Dewan Negara passed the bill at 10.46pm with the majority voting in favour.

The bill was debated for four days beginning Dec 5 and wound up for two days ending Wednesday.

The Dewan Negara will sit again Thursday.
