A budding 11-year-old designer has developed an ‘unbreakable' cup designed with people with Parkinson's disease in mind.

The "Kangaroo Cup" is a sturdy three-legged cup which provides extra stability to protect itself against being knocked over.

The brainchild of Chicago-based Lily Born, the stackable cup features an elevated base, meaning it can be placed anywhere without the worry of leaving marks or scratches.

The design is actually the second version of Lily's Kangaroo Cup -- as the original ceramic model was funded on crowdfunding website Kickstarter in 2012.

However, once on the market, Lily realized that certain improvements could be made to make the cup even more resilient, and, with the help of her father, Joe Born, set about creating a plastic version which could be used by both children and adults.

The young entrepreneur has once again turned to Kickstarter to get the second phase of the project off the ground, and has already surpassed her funding goal.

Initial shipments within the US are expected to be delivered in July.
