The hectic training schedule in praparation for the start of the new football season has not prevented Terengganu players from helping flood victims.

The players gave way hampers and kitchen utensils to 40 flood victim families at Pasar Bandar Permaisuri yesterday under the humanitarian aid programme organised by the Football Association of Terengganu.

Team manager Marzuki Sulong said the inaugural event is to foster awareness and alleviate the suffering of flood victims in the state.

"We feel compelled to help ​​after seeing the hardship faced by flood victims and want players to help in the humanitarian spirit," he told reporters after delivering aid to the flood victims here.

Marzuki said the programme would be continued in the future to help the less fortunate group of people.

"It is not wrong for us to help the less fortunate. Most of the victims are from the low income group and it is our responsibility to help them," he added.
