Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar has urged local football fans to rope in the state football associations (FA) to influence the outcome of the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) next elections.

On his official Twitter account, Khairy hinted that FAM will have a new president in 2017.

Any interested nominees, he said, should seek support from the state football associations in order to be elected.

Khairy also suggested local football fans to meet with the state FA president to nominate their preferred candidates to fill in the positions as FAM exco members.
