The Malaysian Under-21 team (U-21) thrashed Singapore U-21 team 3-0 in a Nations Cup match at Hang Jebat Stadium in Krubong last night.

The win means Malaysia U-21 will clash against Thailand U-21 in the final of the inaugural Nations Cup tournament.

Malaysia led in the 3rd minute when a free kick by striker Muhd Jafri Md Firdaus Chew failed to be parried by Singapore goalkeeper Muhd ??Zharfan Rohaizad.

This allowed flanker Muhammad Safawi Rasid to score the first goal.

The second goal came in the 51st minute when substitute Muhammad Syafiq Ahmad scored after a misunderstanding between Muhd Zharfan and his defenders.

Flanker Mohammad Farhan Roslan was a nighmare for defenders when his cross eluded the Singapore defence.

The ball fell at the feet of Nur Syamie who scored Malaysia's third goal in the 83rd minute.

The final match between Malaysia and Thailand is scheduled to take place on Sunday night (June 5) at Hang Jebat Stadium.

Earlier, Singapore will face Vietnam in the third place match.
