Johor Darul Ta'zim head coach, Mario Gomez praised his boys after scoring an emphatic 5-0 win against the Premier League side, UiTM FC, in the second round match of the FA Cup football competition at the UiTM Stadium, here today.

He noted the win would certainly be a morale booster for the Southern Tigers squad to continue a winning momentum in the two crucial matches, next week.

The matches are against Myanmar's Ayeyawady United in the AFC Cup Group H opening tie at the Larkin Stadium on Feb 24 and also against Terengganu FC II in the Super League away match, three days later.

"I was extremely delighted with the performance of all players especially Amri and also Chanturu who netted two goals in today's match," Gomez told reporters after the match.

"For me, all competitions are equally important either it's a Super League, AFC Cup or the FA Cup match and we must be fully focused in every match," the Argentinian coach added.

JDT's goals were scored by Amri Yahyah in the 13th minute, S. Chanturu (32nd and 36th minute), Amirul Hadi Zainal (45th minute) and Jorge Pereyra Diaz in the 71st minute.

Earlier, Amirulhadi was given a marching order by referee, Khairul Rizal Ismail after stamping UiTM FC's player in the injury time of the match.

Meanwhile, UiTM FC coach, Raja Isa Raja Akram, was dissatisfied with the performance displayed by 'The Lion Troops' squad and described it as the best lesson for the player to bounce back in the next two matches against Kuantan FA on home turf on Feb 26 and DRB-Hicom FC in an away match three days later.

"Anyway, it's too early to discuss their journey because we aim at keeping on playing in the Premier League," he said.
