The show cause letter sent by PKR disciplinary body to Selangor Menteri Besar (MB), Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim urging him to relinquish his position is pressuring PAS to provide its unanimous support to PKR President, Datuk Seri Wan Ismail as the new Selangor MB.

This is following a meeting to be held by PAS to determine its standing on the issue scheduled to be held on August 10, two days after the date given to Abdul Khalid to reply to the show cause letter.

According to a source, should Abdul Khalid be dismissed before August 10, he will lose the support of 14 PKR and 15 DAP state assemblyman who comprises the majority of Selangor’s state assemblyman.

“This matter will force PAS to accept the decision made by PKR including naming Wan Azizah as the MB candidate.

“PAS to date is still in its standing of not accepting a woman MB,” said the source who contacted Astro AWANI today.

On Wednesday, KEADILAN disciplinary board chairman Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong in a statement said that the PKR Disciplinary body has called for Abdul Khalid to reply to the show cause letter as he had violated the decision made by the MPP Special meeting which had called him to step down as Selangor MB.

Tee Kwong added that the meeting had also made a decision to choose wan Azizah as the new Selangor MB.

The party’s position in Selangor is PAS (15 seats), DAP (15 seats), PKR (14 seats) and BN (12 seats).
