Sarawak PAS commissioner Adam Ahid, 66, died at about 3.20am today, three days after being admitted to the National Heart Institute, Kota Samarahan, following a stroke.

Sarawak PAS information head Muhamad Shokri Ahmad Fauzi said he was made to understand that Adam would be buried at the Semariang Muslim Cemetery, here before the 'zohor' prayers.

He said that PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, who happened to be here, had time to visit Adam at the institute late last night.

Adam had contested in the 2011 Sarawak state election for the Sebuyau state seat and lost to the Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Julaihi Narawi.

Adam is survived by his wife and four children.
