Those wanting to unlawfully topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak must realise that the people do not want to see a disorderly political situation in the country, says MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

He said the people did not want to be burdened with political polemics whilst Malaysia needed a stable government to develop the economy, especially in the current challenging situation.

"This is the time for us to move forward and ensure the government focuses on national development. We must strengthen the government.

"What is important is that we know the prime minister has been working hard to bring transformation and boost the economy," he told reporters after attending a Chinese New Year celebration at Kampung Baru Bukit Tinggi here on Sunday.

The Bentong member of parliament was commenting on a statement by former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Zaid Ibrahim who expressed his intention to organise a closed-door gathering of 1,000 invited guests on March 27, to press Najib to step down.

Meanwhile, Liow, who is also transport minister said he planned to develop the Bentong district into an agro-tourism destination as the district was already known for its agriculture products such as ginger, and attractions such as waterfall, hot spring and resorts.
