Penang DAP leaders should act like gentlemen and answer all questions concerning issues in the state and stop blaming others.

Penang Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman said issues such as the purchase of a bungalow by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has nothing to do with UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN).

"He bought a bungalow at below market price and UMNO is to be blamed. UMNO did not tell the chief minister to buy the bungalow at below market price. They (DAP) are facing a big issue because one of their leader is being vilified, accused and criticised.

"The DAP must address the issues based on facts," he told reporters after chairing the Penang UMNO Liaison Committee meeting here, on Sunday.

On the issue of the Taman Manggis public housing project (PPR) site which was sold to the private sector, he said if the Penang state government cannot afford to build homes for the poor, the federal government was ready to carry out the task.

"The poor in Penang need thousands of homes. The state government should review its housing policy to cater for the needs of the people. We have the land and funds, just give us the approval to build the houses," he added.
