Barisan Nasional will be fielding around 70 to 80 new faces to contest in the 222 Parliamentary seats, while nearly 50 percent of new faces will be placed in 505 state assembly seats across the country.

The party’s chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the new candidates meet the needs of people who wish to see changes within the party.

He said these new faces balance out the existing representatives in order to ensure continuity of experience in serving the people.

He said the candidates are considered the best after taking into account the sentiments and hopes of the voters as well as going through the process of negotiation with BN state chairmen.

Najib said this during a press conference after handing over the names of BN candidates to BN state chairmen at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here today.
