Authorities have identified several individuals allegedly responsible and four possible hotspots for the leaked Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) papers.

Second Education Minister, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said the probable locations were identified by the police and the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

"I was informed that the investigation team has identified several individuals believed to the responsible in leaking the examination papers.

“These irresponsible individuals betrayed the country’s secrets for their own interest,” said Idris in a statement read at the Education Ministry in Putrajaya on Friday.

According to Idris, almost one million parents are affected by the incident.

The Science question papers 018, 028 and 038 for the 2014 UPSR exam scheduled to take place on Thursday was postponed to Sept 30 after it was found to have been leaked.

According to a media statement released by the Examination Board today, its director Dr Na'imah Ishak said preliminary investigations found that the contents of the question papers were spread over various social media networks.

Other papers which was also found to have been leaked were the English papers 014/1 and 014/2 (Paper 1 and 2).
