The Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) said they would look into the allegations of bad conduct by the police, made by the former prime minister and his family earlier today.
In a statement tonight, CCID Chief, Datuk Seri Amar Singh Ishar Singh, clarified that on May 16 and 17, the police had conducted searches at six different premises that are linked to the investigation on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
He explained that six "very senior police officers" were appointed as 'Ground Commanders' to oversee each respective premise.
"The Commanders responsible for each of this premise and men under his command were categorically reminded by me to conduct the searches professionally and accord utmost respect to the occupants, as these premises are occupied by the ex-Prime Minister of our country and his family.
"On the allegation that 'food was demanded to be prepared and police personnel eating chocolates and food from the fridge', I request that more details be provided on such incident that took place and also identify, if possible, the police personnel who are involved.
"I will not tolerate such unprofessional conduct and stern action shall be taken against the personnel concerned in contravention of our police standard operating procedure, if the allegations are found to be true," he said.
The allegation by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was made through his lawyer, Datuk Harpal Singh Grewal.
On the allegation by Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor – made through the lawyer firm Valen, Oh & Partners – on "leakages of pictures of the raid in social media", Amar Singh said steps had been taken to ensure this did not happen.
"I had instructed that all the officers and men were strictly prohibited form carrying their handphones with them during the searches, except for the Commander and his Deputy, and that too, only for communication purposes.
"Photographs and video recordings at the scene were also to be taken only by our official photographers," he said.
He said the police urged the relevant parties to provide details of the leaked photographs, if any, to enable them to investigate and verify if the viral photographs came from the police or otherwise, as "there were family members and friends present during the search."
He added that the CCID strives for excellence and professionalism in all their investigations, and any insubordination or unprofessional conduct would be dealt with seriously.
