A year six student of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Cherating was seriously hurt after falling from the fourth floor of the school building Monday afternoon.

Kuantan District Police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said the victim, Muhammad Syawal Heri, 12, was believed to have climbed to the roof at 3.30 pm to catch birds together with four friends.

"He slipped and fell to the ceiling of the fourth floor building before falling to the ground from a height of about 30 metres," he told reporters, here.

Muhammad Syawal Heri,12, from Kampung Bukit Palas, Cherating was seriously hurt in the head and was rushed to Kemaman Hospital in Terengganu.
