The number of flood victims in Kelantan dropped further to 18,012 people this morning compared with 18,570 last night as the number of evacuation centres in seven districts of Kelantan also dropped to 56 from 65 last night.

According to the state government's flood portal, the number of evacuees in Pasir Mas however, increased to 11,930 people compared with 11,408 last night but Tumpat registered a drop from 5,328 to 4,712.

The number of flood victims in Kuala Krai also dropped to 350 from 814 last night.

Despite the drop in the number of flood victims, water level in Sungai Golok at Rantau Panjang exceeded the danger level of 9m as the latest reading registered 10.42m this morning.

No main roads were closed for traffic throughout the state this morning but the weather remained cloudy in the morning.

Four people have died since the second wave of floods hit Kelantan since Dec 16.
