The body of a Bangladeshi construction worker, trapped under wet concrete at the Depot of the Ampang LRT Extension Project worksite in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, has been recovered.

According to the Selangor Rescue and Fire Department, two more workers are still trapped under the rubble.

Previously it was reported that, three workers are believed to be trapped after a formwork and scaffolding collapsed at the Depot of Ampang LRT Extension Project worksite in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad in a statement said four other workers also sustained minor injuries at the incident that occurred at 4.20pm during the concreting of the deck slab at a height of 8m.

The injured workers were immediately given first aid treatment and currently being treated at a nearby hospital, said the statement.

The statement said rescue efforts were currently ongoing by the Emergency Response Team, Police and the Fire and Rescue Department to rescue two Bangladeshi and an Indonesian worker.

Prasarana's Group Director of Project Development Division Datuk Zohari Sulaiman who was at the site expressed regret over the incident while the cause of the incident is still being investigated since the scaffolding was designed by a professional engineer and certified safe by a certified scaffolding
inspector.

Meanwhile, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Corporation in a statement denied any link to the incident with the Klang Valley MRT (KVMRT) Project as reported on social media.

"The KVMRT does not run through Subang Jaya. Our prayers and thoughts are with the victims of the incident who are reported to be trapped underneath the collapsed concrete slab," said the statement.
