KUALA LUMPUR: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), currently imposed in Kampung Sungai Penchala, only involved Jalan Sungai Pencala 11, Jalan Sungai Penchala 12, and Jalan Sungai Penchala 12(A), starting Thursday (June 10) until June 23.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Anuar Omar said that the EMCO was being enforced in these three areas only, and not in the entirety of Kampung Sungai Penchala.

He said that after five days of the EMCO at Kampung Sungai Penchala, there was still confusion among local residents on the exact EMCO locations.

Anuar hoped that this explanation would clear the air and help ease residents' movements in the surrounding areas, particularly for work purposes.

"However, residents are reminded to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs), issued throughout the MCO, for the areas that are not under EMCO," he said in a statement today.

On June 8, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, announced that Kampung Sungai Penchala was to be placed under EMCO for 14 days.
