GEORGE TOWN: The Citizen Awareness Chant Group (Chant) has urged the Penang government to disclose information regarding the activities on a five-acre (2.02 hectare) land located in Pulau Tikus, here.

Its advisor Yan Lee today said that the land, owned by Penang Island City Council (MBPP), bordered Codrington Avenue, Lengkok Burma and Jalan Burma.

"My sources informed me a few days ago that there has been something going on involving the land, hence I would like to ask the state government if there is going to be some development on the said land," he said at a press conference, here.

He expressed concern that there might be traffic congestion around the land if it were to be developed due to its close proximity to the upcoming Island Medical City, a medical hub, and expansion to an existing private hospital.

"However, if the state does plan to develop this land, we hope that it can be fully utilised for the benefit of the public," he added.
