Malaysia Airlines (MAS), together with Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) today held a private gathering to mark the second anniversary of the mysterious disappearance of MAS Flight MH370, exactly two years ago.
MAS and MAB in a joint statement said the private gathering, which was held at the KL International Airport (KLIA) near here was attended by airline employees, as well as family members of the 13 MAS staff on board the Boeing 777-200ER jetliner.
The gathering of the family members was led by MAB chairman, Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, who was joined by MAB group CEO, Christoph Mueller, members of the board and members of staff across all divisions of the company.
"The event honoured the memory of the 13 staff and crew members with a prayer, a minute's silence as well as a video tribute to former colleagues," said the statement.
On the Interim Statement by the Bureau of Air Accident Investigation (BSKU) today, MAS thanked the investigative team for the work it had done, thus far. It said the airline had worked very closely with BSKU and given its full cooperation.
The Kuala Lumpur-Beijing Flight MH370 with 239 passengers and crew on board was declared missing after it disappeared from the radar in the early hours of March 8, 2014.
Its flight path was believed to have ended in the southern Indian Ocean.
