'Hope' was the word echoed by acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein during his press conference on Saturday, 15 days since the disappearance of the MH370 aircraft.

“When there is still hope that they are still alive we must continue to find the aircraft,” he said when asked on how long the search and rescue (SAR) operations in the Southern Indian Ocean would take place.

“At the moment we are continuing the search and I don’t want to indicate when and if we stop, its the least we owe the families right now,” he added solemly.

He said with the help provided by all the countries involved in the SAR operations and the assets deployed by them, it gives him more hope that the mysterious MH370 aircraft would be found.

“I will not give up hope and I will continue as of day one and I am given more hope to get closure on this with the support of the many countries involved,” said Hishammuddin.

Meanwhile, Hishamuddin also announced that the Chinese government had detected an image measuring 22 metres long and 13 metres wide off the Southern Corridor.

This announcement was made after receiving a note from the Chinese ambassador to Malaysia, Huang Huikang.

“The Chinese ambassador has said that a detailed information of the location of the image will be informed in several hours, if it is related to the MH370 aircraft,” Hishammuddin said.
