A logistics company manager was among six people detained after 2,702 bottles of branded perfumes worth about RM300,000 were reported missing on Tuesday.

Subang Jaya police chief, ACP Yahya Ramli said the operations manager of the logistics company in Persiaran Perindustrian Subang, here, noticed something was amiss when two of the employees suddenly tendered their resignation.

"The manager and assistant manager resigned...then a stock check was carried out and they found that several bottles of perfume were missing. The company lodged a police report on Tuesday.

"The six suspects, aged between 29 and 41, including a buyer were arrested in the Klang Valley area on the same day," he told a press conference, yesterday.

He said police also seized a Toyota Hilux pickup owned by one of the suspects, which was used to transport the stolen items.

Yahya said the suspects were believed to have been stealing the perfumes in small numbers for the past two months.
