Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad today received a courtesy call from Liu Jianchao. who is China's National Bureau of Corruption Prevention deputy minister and director-general for International Cooperation at the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

The MACC in a statement today said the meeting was to maintain the good relations that exist between the two parties in the fight against corruption.

"During the meeting, both parties shared and exchanged information especially in establishing mechanisms to support Asian countries in their fight against corruption.

"The two parties also agreed to strengthen cooperation on issues related to corruption, misuse of power and improving ways to combat corruption at the international level," it said.

According to the statement, with the cooperation, the MACC would be given the opportunity to expand the fight against corruption and abuse power with other countries in future. - BERNAMA
