Online news portal Malaysiakini can lodge a police report if they feel threatened by the Red Shirts leader Datuk Jamal Yunos recent statement that his group of men will cause a part of Malaysiakini's building "to fall".

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Jamal had made many statements before this but never carried out his threats.

"Everyone knows him. He has made many statements but nothing happened," he told reporters at a press conference today.

"But, if Malaysiakini feels threatened, they can lodge report," he added.

On Thursday, Jamal said he will be bringing 20,000 of his men to protest outside the news portal on Saturday.

He had also said that part of the building will collapse if the news portal did not explain over its funding by Saturday noon.
