DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today reminded component parties of the opposition Pakatan Harapan not to expect PAS to rejoin the pact that was previously known as Pakatan Rakyat.

He claimed that PAS was seen as more likely to cooperate with the Barisan Nasional and, as such, Pakatan Harapan should be prepared for three-cornered contests in the next general election.

"Let us not expect or hope that PAS will cooperate with us. If that happens, we will be trapped, not just by PAS but also the BN," he said at a press conference here.

Lim, who is the Chief Minister of Penang, was elaborating on the statement by Pakatan Harapan that it had decided not to cooperate with PAS in the next general election.

He also claimed that PAS would not be able to form the new government because it did not aspire to be the government.

"They want to contest the election for the sake of contesting, so voters will be given a clear choice of whether they want BN or they want a change," he said.
