JOHOR BAHRU: Barisan Nasional (BN) has been given a huge mandate in the Johor state election after winning 38 of the 56 seats up for grabs, based on unofficial results as of 10.56 pm.

With this, BN has secured a two-thirds majority win to form a strong and stable state government.

The Johor legislative assembly was dissolved on Jan 22 while nominations were held on Feb 26.

Unofficial results also indicated that Pakatan Harapan won 10 seats, Perikatan Nasional three while PKR and the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) won one seat each.
