Claims that it has been two months since Mohamed Azmin Ali met the Sultan of Selangor are not true, the Selangor Menteri Besar said.

Mohamed Azmin who refuted the claims said he meets Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah every week, to update the Ruler of the state council meetings.

"It is the usual practice in the administration of the State where the Menteri Besar will face the Sultan every week before the State Council Meeting to inform of its agenda and other related matters.

"As the Selangor MB, I meet the Sultan every week for the same purpose," he said in a statement today.

Previously, a blog posting titled, “Sultan Selangor murka? Azmin Ali MB paling pendek riwayat reported that the Ruler is unhappy with Mohamed Azmin as it has been months since he met the Sultan.

There were also claims that in some official functions, the Ruler was represented by his younger brother, Tengku Sulaiman as the Sultan was trying to avoid from meeting Mohamed Azmin.

The Selangor MB said the last time he met the Sultan was on Monday.

"On Thursday, I was called to meet the Sultan to inform him of the above matters including latest problems within Pakatan Rakyat’s national leadership.

"The Sultan took note of the matter," he said.

Meanwhile, sources from Mohamed Azmin’s office said news of the Ruler together with Mohamed Azmin is published almost every week in the social media.

"Three weeks ago Azmin accompanied the Sultan who presided the meeting of the Conference of the Malay Rulers. Two weeks ago, Azmin together with Tuanku visited some Royal Tombs and since Ramadan, almost every day Azmin is with the Sultan for Iftar and Tarawikh," the source said.
