Police are still hunting for 15 individuals for their alleged involvement in the get-rich-quick scheme ‘Highway Group’.

Bukit Aman CID director, Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said all their identities have been identified.

Elaborating on the 16 arrested so far, he said the latest arrest was a 46-year-old teacher who sat on the board of directors in the company.

"During his arrest around 1am this morning, the suspect was hiding in a room in a condominium unit in Sri Hartamas, getting ready to flee the country," he said in a statement today.

Acryl Sani said the police operation against the group, which had allegedly conned some 500,000 investors nationwide and in Brunei of about RM50 million, was launched five months ago.

All arrests were made under Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Crime Act (POCA) 1959.

It was previously reported that two figures – a Datuk and a Datuk Seri – had masterminded the illegal investment scheme.

Also arrested was a local actor, Adlin Aman Ramlie, 44, but he has since been released on police bail.
