SUNGAI BULOH: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Sungai Buloh in the 15th General Election (GE15), Khairy Jamaluddin, wants voters to understand that the party's candidate for Prime Minister is Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He explained that the issue of one vote for Khairy is the same as one vote for Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was only played up by the opposition.

"One vote for me is one vote for KJ, and the BN Prime Minister candidate is Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"This narrative must be clarified right now. The PM candidate is Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob," he told the media after completing the Sungai Buloh nomination process. at Dewan Kenanga, Petaling Land and District Office here on Saturday.

Therefore, he added, the narrative needs to be changed since Ismail Sabri had been named as Prime Minister by the UMNO leadership itself.

"One vote for KJ in Sungai Buloh is one vote for KJ in Sungai Buloh. I will support Ismail Sabri as the PM candidate as announced by Zahid himself. There is no confusion there," he said.

In the meantime, Khairy admitted to facing a big challenge in Sungai Buloh considering that the incumbent obtained a majority of more than 20,000 votes.

"I welcome the challenge. Give me the opportunity to represent Sungai Buloh. This is the most difficult fight in my political career," he stressed.

Asked about PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli's claim that he will be “sliced up” by UMNO insiders, this was his reply: "I am not ready to go yet. Not today."

Regarding his manifesto, Khairy said it will be announced next week.

In the GE15, Khairy is involved in a seven-cornered contest including the incumbent party, Pakatan Harapan (PH).
