A former Rural and Regional Development Ministry secretary-general and his son were charged in the Sessions Court here today with corruption involving RM550,000.

Datuk Mohd Arif Ab Rahman, 60, and Ahmad Zukhairi Mohd Arif, 35, claimed trial to corruptly cooperating and receiving RM550,000 in regard to a rural electricity supply project in Sandakan, Sabah last year.

Judge Azura Alwi set RM200,000 as bail with one surety each for the two accused and March 20 for remention.
