The Selangor government will hold a detailed briefing with all parties on the restructuring of the water industry on Monday.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the briefing is to explain the terms and conditions agreed in the master agreement signed with the federal government on Friday.

"We will give suggestions and measures so that the takeover can be done properly so that the people of Selangor get a well managed water supply at reasonable price," he told reporters here, Friday night.

Asked to comment on the Selangor government guarantee of no water rationing in future, Khalid said the agreement gives the state government more opportunity to manage the water industry.

The master agreement signed between the Selangor and the federal government concludes the restructuring of water supply for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

With the agreement signing, Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, an entity formerly known as Pengurusan Air Selangor, will take over the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants and water supply previously done by four concessionaires.
