A Form Two student died after a fight, which was witnessed by about 30 students, at the Pulau Sebang bus station after school here yesterday.

K. Saravanan, 14, from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pulau Sebang was said to have fallen unconscious after he was punched by two students at about 2.30 pm, said Melaka Tengah CID chief ACP Raja Shahrom
Raja Abdullah.

He said passers-by took the victim to the Tampin Hospital where he died upon admission.

The fight was said to have ensued following bitter exchange of words between the victim and his assailants during a bus journey on the way to school in the morning, he added.

"They fought after school on the first floor of the bus station as students waited for their buses to go home," he said.

After Saravanan collapsed, the assailants called for an ambulance and the victim was taken to the hospital.

"Two suspects and five onlookers were arrested in connection with the incident. The suspects were playing football in Taman Sebang Gemilang here when they were hauled up at about 6 pm," said Raja Shahrom.

Raja Shahrom urged the public, particularly the families of the students involved not to take the law into their own hands.
