SUBANG: The outstanding achievements and contributions of 100 young celebrities and entrepreneurs for their excellence and perseverance in the industry were recognised as The 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs 2022 (MIYE2022), yesterday.

The event organised by Entrepreneur Insight celebrated 100 industry players under 45 years old, who have created a significant impact in the mass and social media as well as corporate social responsibility (CSR) achievements in the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) sector.

Armani Media founder and chief executive officer Datuk KK Chua said the selection process of the 100 MIYE recipients was tedious as the Entrepreneurs Insight board of editors is required to shortlist 100 excellent individuals from 1000 submissions received.

"In Malaysia, there are possibly 3.2 million SMEs and we only choose 100 which is less than 0.03 per cent. The selection process is tedious for the editor team of Entrepreneur Insight as being the leading entrepreneur magazine in Malaysia, carries a lot of responsibility.

"The event is not just about celebrating entrepreneurship, it is a platform for entrepreneurs to shine and also bring transformation (in the SMEs industry)," he said during his speech at the opening ceremony of The 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs 2022 at Subang Skypark, Private Air Hangar, Selangor.

Chua said this year's event focuses on perseverance and revival as seen in new business models, revival strategies and renewed inventions in business by entrepreneurs following the difficult times in the industry over the past two years due to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar and the ministry's secretary-general Datuk Suriani Ahmad also attended the event.

Among the recipients of the prestigious award are Datuk Seri Vida, Zeileen Yusnita, Puteri Zarith and Lee Yon Onn, while Chiau Haw Choon was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year.
