The organisers of Future Music Festival Asia 2015 said they were saddened to announce that the festival which was scheduled to be held on Friday and Saturday (March 13-14), at the Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore, has been cancelled.

In a statement, Livescape Singapore Pte Ltd said full ticket refunds will be made to all those who bought FMFA tickets, details of which will be made available by Monday evening.

"We are also aware of the many fans overseas who have made travel arrangements into Singapore for the festival. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience you’ve been put through," it said.

The organiser said a team had been set up to help answer concerns of fans directly and can be reached at support@futuremusicfestival.asia.

On Friday, it was reported that the ministry, after careful consideration, turned down an appeal for a permit by Livescape Singapore to hold the event here.

Last year's FMFA event held in Kuala Lumpur was marred by drug problems where six Malaysians died of drug overdose and another 16 were hospitalised for drug-related matters.

Several Singaporeans were also reported to have been hospitalised after a suspected drug overdose, while two people were later charged for drug offences in the Malaysian capital city.
